K'nex Mars Rover Challenge

“Hello, Houston? We have a problem. It’s zero minus one hour and counting. We have developed a malfunction with our Mars rover vehicle. Can you ship in a replacement as soon as possible?”

The Mars Rover should:

• be capable of traversing rough terrain
• be steerable
• be a sturdy design (it is tough on Mars!)
• have ability to add improvements, e.g. better steering and motor driven wheels

Things to think about:

• What shape will your Mars rover be?     
• How many wheels will it have?     
• How will the wheels be fastened to the body? 
• How can you make improvements to make it faster and more maneuverable?
