Why choose a STEM Career?

Choosing your career may seem like a daunting prospect. There are so many options out there! So why should you consider a STEM career?

STEM Jobs are well paid STEM related jobs are well paid -  graduate engineers for example can expect to start on £22,000
STEM Jobs offer variety Working in STEM doesn't mean you'll be in a science lab. You could  work in an office, in a hospital, at a water treatment plant, in a distillery or in a national park.
STEM jobs are creative In a STEM career you might design computer games, football stadiums or jewellery.
Make a difference In a STEM career you might be manufacturing life saving drugs, or testing renewable energy devices.
Businesses need STEM Three out of four businesses rely on people with STEM skills 1/3 of businesses prefer applicants with STEM degrees
STEM skills are in short supply Over 2/5 of employers are struggling to find the STEM talent they need
Employers like people with STEM skills Studying STEM subjects helps you develop lots of generic skills which are valued by all businesses. Seven in ten employers value the analytical skills, and 61% the problem solving skills, developed by studying STEM.
