STEM Ambassadors for Schools

The STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from businesses who can inspire and educate young people about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The UK wide STEM Ambassador Programme is managed by STEM North of Scotland in the Highlands and Islands on behalf of the national body STEMNET.

If you would like someone to help add a work-related learning perspective to curriculum topics, to judge a competition, to provide an inspirational talk, or attend a careers fair please contact us on stempoint@hient.co.uk or search our STEM Ambassador database for a suitable Ambassador before you get in touch.

Partnership working

STEM subjects are important to the future of Scotland because they form the basis of a strong economy. As a teacher you are key to educating our future workforce and we at STEM North of Scotland aim to support you. This website can assist you with enhancement and enrichment of the Curriculum for Excellence through activities and resources (like the STEM Ambassadors).

STEM North of Scotland is also here to support you directly. We can be contacted anytime for support with resources and activities. Just email Laura at stempoint@hient.co.uk and arrange a visit to your school.

Please also become a fan of our facebook page for up to date information about ongoing competitions and events.

We also have our own page on Glow! If your local authority is connected please login here. The Glow STEM North of Scotland page is a National Group but only open to teaching and non-teaching staff from the Highlands and Islands. If you have not been added as a member yet, please let us know at stempoint@hient.co.uk and we will correct this.

We would also love to hear from you about the exciting STEM events that you are undertaking with your students and would welcome any pictures of student activities that can be included on our website.
